Gas Nitriding

Gas Nitriding is a thermochemical surface hardening process that diffuses nitrogen into the surface of steel components at controlled temperatures - typically between 490°C and 630°C in an ammonia-rich atmosphere. The result is a hard, wear-resistant surface layer with significantly improved fatigue life, corrosion resistance, and dimensional stability, all without the distortion associated with conventional hardening methods.

Our precision advantage

We specialise in achieving exceptional results with dimensional accuracy—maintaining post- process growth at less than 7 microns. This ensures your precision components retain their exact tolerances and geometry after treatment, eliminating the need for costly re-machining or rework.

Why choose Gas Nitriding?

Superior hardness

Exceptional surface hardness with minimal distortion to finished components

Extended service life

Greatly improved fatigue strength and wear resistance for longer component life

Corrosion resistance

Enhanced resistance to corrosive environments, ideal for demanding industrial applications.

Dimensional accuracy

Post process growth controlled to less than 7 microns no re-machining required.
